WeightliftingCojocaru Sets Two Youth World Records to Complete the Set
At the IWF World Youth Championships in Cali (Colombia) on 8 July 2026, 16-year-old Nicoleta Cojocaru (Moldova) won the women's 58kg by a wide margin and set two youth world records — clean & jerk (114kg) and total (202kg) — going 88-114-202 on five of six attempts and improving her best total by 5kg. Together with the youth snatch world record she had set earlier in Ismailia, she now holds a full set of youth world records.
WeightliftingKhalifa Wins Libya's First Youth Weightlifting Medal
Abdulrauf Khalifa lifted 305 kg total (137 snatch, 168 clean and jerk) to claim 79 kg silver, Libya's first medal at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships after sitting fourth at the halfway mark.
