Contribute a story
Every ICNX story documents one moment: a record broken, a title won, a first that stood. If you know one we haven't covered — in any of more than 150 disciplines — you can send it to the desk from here.
We read every contribution. Stories that run are edited to the house style, checked against their sources and credited to you by name. Nothing is published automatically.
What makes an ICNX story
- One moment, not a career. The day it happened, how it unfolded, where it sits in the record books.
- Numbers do the work. A time, a score, a margin beats any superlative.
- Every fact has a source. Two independent ones at least — a federation result, a match report.
- 250–480 words in short paragraphs. Plain text; we set the layout and pictures.
- Your own words. We check for copied text, and we don't run it.
How stories are produced and corrected is documented in our editorial policy.
Contributor terms
- The story is your own work. You hold the rights to it and to anything you quote.
- You grant ICNX a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to publish, edit, shorten and distribute the story across ICNX channels. Copyright stays with you.
- ICNX decides whether and in what form the story runs, and may edit it. There is no right to publication and no payment.
- If the story runs, you are credited by name as its contributor.
- You can ask for the story to be taken down at any time — one email is enough.
- Your name and email are stored only to handle the contribution and are never shared. Rejected contributions are deleted after 90 days; for published ones, the email is deleted after 180 days.
Details on data handling are in our privacy notice.
