Editorial Policy
AI-assisted production
ICNX stories are researched and drafted with the assistance of AI tools. We use them to search results, records and reporting across many disciplines every day — work no small desk could do by hand at this breadth. AI assistance is a production method, not a publishing decision: no story goes live because a model wrote it.
Human review before publication
Every story is reviewed by a human editor before it is published. The editor checks the facts, the framing and the sourcing, and decides whether the piece runs. Drafts that do not pass review do not appear on this site.
Verification and sources
Results, records and dates are verified against at least two independent sources before publication — typically the governing body or event organiser plus established sports media. Where a claim cannot be verified to that standard, we either attribute it clearly or leave it out.
Imagery and credits
Photographs carry their credit and licence wherever they appear. When no licensed photograph of a moment exists, we may use an AI-generated illustration instead — such images are labelled as AI-generated directly on the image, never presented as photography.
Reader contributions
Readers can send us a story about a moment we haven't covered. Contributions arrive as plain text with sources and are read by the desk before anything happens to them. A story that runs is edited to the house style, checked against its sources like any other article and credited to its contributor by name. Nothing submitted is published automatically, and we decline more than we run. How it works is on the contribute page.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct the article itself as soon as the error is confirmed — not just quietly, but so the corrected fact stands where the wrong one stood. Substantive corrections are noted in the article. If you spot an error, we want to hear about it.
