Brothers Yaroslav and Vsevolod Ossolodkov won two world titles in a single evening at the 2026 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in Pesaro, Italy. The American pair took the men's combined final with 29.620 and the balance final with 29.750.
Two routines, two golds
Entering the finals weekend, the Ossolodkovs had qualified first in all three senior disciplines. Kazakhstan's pair ranked second in balance and combined and were their closest challenger. In the combined final, the brothers beat Kazakhstan's 29.210 and Belarus's 28.630.
The balance final left no doubt. Both titles were secured in the same Saturday session.
Four years, zero defeats
The pair, born in Kazakhstan and U.S. citizens since 2023, have not lost a national or international competition since 2022. A year after becoming citizens, they made history in Guimarães, Portugal, as the sport's first men's pair junior world champions. The biennial championship schedule meant a two-year wait for a senior shot.
That wait grew complicated early in the season. A growth spurt for the 15-year-old Yaroslav forced the brothers to rebuild their skill set. "We started the season without being able to do pretty much any of our skills," Seva Ossolodkov told reporters. Coached by their parents at the family gym in Beaumont, California, they reassembled their routines and won all four World Cup stops to clinch the series title.
What comes next
Whether this was a peak or a farewell remains open. The next World Championships is not until 2028, and the brothers have said they will decide their future only after Pesaro. Their younger brother Radomir already trains with a national-team partner.
