22Dragons Take Premier Mixed 500m World Title

Montreal’s 22Dragons claimed the Premier Mixed 500‑metre Standard Boat world title at the 15th IDBF Club Crew World Championships in Hualien. The Canadian crew stopped the clock at 1:52.41 in a Grand Final swept entirely by clubs from their own nation.

Three Canadian boats, one narrow gap

The final turned into a domestic showdown on international water. 22Dragons held off NDRC, who took silver in 1:53.11.

TNPC secured bronze with a time of 1:53.81, leaving the margin between first and second at a slender 0.70 seconds. All three medals went to Canadian crews.

A club-crew peak in Hualien

The race ran on the championship course in Hualien, Chinese Taipei, during a regatta that stretched from late August into early September. The event drew club crews from across the world.

In the Premier Mixed Small Boat final held later, Germany’s Neckardrachen won gold. The Standard Boat narrative, however, belonged entirely to the three Canadian boats that lined up for the Grand Final.

For 22Dragons, the result marks a first club‑crew world title over 500 metres—a quiet arrival at the top of their discipline.
