Tomblin Sweeps Four European Artistic Swimming Golds

Water splashed around one raised arm. The pool in Paris went quiet, then the crowd erupted. Great Britain's Ranjuo Tomblin had just won his fourth gold medal at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships, sweeping all four events he entered: men's solo technical, men's solo free, mixed duet technical and mixed duet free.

Tomblin is now a four-time European champion. He won gold in every event he swam. This sweep showed that the 19-year-old is the top athlete in men's artistic swimming.

A sweep built one final at a time

He came to Paris after a great season. He had won 17 medals on the World Cup circuit, including 12 golds.

He first defended his solo technical title with 249.3951 points, then swam first in the solo free. His routine showed a journey from struggle to power. With the highest difficulty, he scored 258.9188 points and won his fourth gold.

History with Izzy Thorpe

He won two more golds with his partner, Isabelle Thorpe. In the mixed duet free, they scored 258.2383 points. That gave Great Britain its first European title in the event, beating Spain by only 0.2650 points.

The next day, their technical routine "Conflict between light and darkness" scored 229.6783 points, edging Italy by just 0.6691. Tomblin said, "Today is more special because I get to do it with Izzy, so it's incredible. She's the best duet partner ever."

This Paris meet capped a season that made Ranjuo Tomblin the top man in artistic swimming. His four gold medals will be remembered among the great achievements in European aquatics history.
