France’s Florian Jouanny won the 2026 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup overall title by taking every single Men H2 race he entered. He crossed the line first in all four of his contests across Belgium and Italy, sealing the crown at the season finale in Abruzzo.
A clean sweep sealed in Italy
The 34-year-old arrived at the closing round with the series already leaning his way. He left no doubt on the final weekend, finishing the job with the same controlled power that marked his entire campaign. The three-round series also stopped in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Gistel, Belgium.
At one European round, Jouanny beat long-time rival Sergio Garrote Muñoz by 44 seconds in the time trial. He then pulled clear by 1:12 in the road race, settling a contest that has become a familiar story over recent seasons.
Adding to a heavy palmarès
Jouanny, paralysed from a skiing accident in 2011, now adds another major trophy to a collection that already holds multiple world titles. The UCI called him a three-time Paralympic gold medallist when announcing his latest victory. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics he took H2 time trial bronze, just 0.46 seconds behind Italy’s Luca Mazzone.
His 2022 world road race gold came in a photo finish where the top three men shared the same time of 1:28:46. This season, he left no room for such drama. The American Katerina Brim also won four races in the Women H2 class, yet Thailand’s Patcharapha Seesen took that overall title on points. Jouanny never allowed that gap to open.
With the World Cup decided, the field now looks toward the world championships in Huntsville, Alabama. Jouanny’s perfect summer sends a quiet warning that he is not slowing down.
