Erin Brooks won the Lexus Trestles Pro at Lower Trestles on September 18, 2026, securing her third consecutive Championship Tour victory. The 19-year-old Canadian defeated newly minted World No. 1 Gabriela Bryan in a tense final to join Stephanie Gilmore and Carissa Moore as the only women to achieve the feat.
Three backhands, one title
The final swung on a decisive sequence deep in the heat. With just three minutes remaining, Brooks landed three backhands for a 6.00, stretching Bryan's requirement to a 6.68. The Hawaiian had opened the scoring with a 6.33, but could not find the wave she needed before the horn sounded.
A path through champions
Brooks reached the final by cutting through a stacked field in four-to-five-foot surf. She dispatched then-World No. 1 Carissa Moore with a 15.33 heat total, then eliminated reigning World Champion Molly Picklum in the semifinals. The run confirmed her transformation from a competitor fighting to re-qualify earlier this season into a genuine world title threat.
Elite company
The streak places Brooks alongside two icons of the sport. Gilmore won three straight events in 2008, while Moore achieved the feat across the end of 2014 and start of 2015. The third win also lifted Brooks to No. 5 in the world rankings heading into the postseason.
"If you told me at Stop No. 7 that I'd be where I am right now, I wouldn't believe you because this is insane," Brooks told reporters afterwards. "The first part of the year was like such a bummer, but this makes it worth it."
The Championship Tour now moves to Peniche, Portugal, with Brooks no longer an outsider but a central figure in the title race.
