Van de Spijker Takes Parkour Speed World Title

Siebe van de Spijker is the Speed Men world champion again. The Dutch freerunner topped the field at the SPL5 Sport Parkour League World Championships to take the title. He crossed the line first in the men's speed final.

Van de Spijker led home a Dutch pair, with compatriot Tangui van Schingen in second and American Brandon Hooper in third. The two Dutchmen set the pace and never let it slip. Both left the finish area straight after their runs.

Event coverage noted the odd scene that followed. "In men's speed, first and second went to the flying Dutchmen," the report read, "leaving Brandon Hooper alone on the podium in third." The winners were gone before the ceremony began.

Eindhoven's fastest, world champion once more at 23

The result places the 23-year-old from Eindhoven among the sport's repeat winners. Reports from his home city described him as world champion again, not for the first time. Speed is his discipline, and the world stage is where he keeps proving it.

The 2026 field carried extra weight. The league scrapped on-site qualifiers, so every athlete had earned a place through victory at elite sanctioned events or as a top finisher from the previous championships. Van de Spijker won against a room of proven runners.

His title sat within a wider championship that also crowned Skill and Style winners across the men's and women's draws. Renae Dambly and Hooper took the Skill titles; Audrey Johnson and Elis Torhall took the Style titles. Van de Spijker's win headed the speed category.

For a runner from Eindhoven, the crown is now a familiar weight. The next season will ask him to defend it once more.
