Sanchez and Ustero Take Paris Major, Third Title of 2026

Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero delivered a commanding performance on Court Philippe‑Chatrier to win the 2026 Premier Padel Paris Major, dismantling Martina Calvo and Claudia Fernandez 6‑2, 6‑0. The victory marks their third title of the season and their first Major together.

A roof, a rain delay, and complete control

The final began under a closed retractable roof after a shower swept across Roland Garros. Sánchez and Ustero, seeded third, seized the conditions immediately and never let go. An early break pushed them ahead 2‑0, and the first set finished 6‑2 with Calvo and Fernandez unable to create a single break point.

Sánchez conducted the match from the front with precise placement, while Ustero unleashed her smash repeatedly. The pair reeled off three straight service breaks in the second set, winning the last eight games without reply to close out the match in 71 minutes.

First Major, third trophy of the year

The Paris crown adds to their 2026 haul after earlier wins in Riyadh and Valencia. Their season record now stands at 36 victories against 12 defeats. For Ustero, the moment carried extra weight — an injury had kept her out of the previous Majors in Malaga and Pretoria.

Calvo and Fernandez arrived after eliminating top seeds Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay in the semifinals, but the title match bore no resemblance to that upset. The final also entered the record books as the youngest women’s Major decider ever, with the four players combining for 86 years.

“We had to be really focused from the start because our opponents play very well,” Ustero told reporters afterwards. “We did a perfect match. Ari showed her best version and I showed mine.”

The Catalan pair, with coach Ángel Gonzalez, departs Paris holding a trophy, 2,000 ranking points and the quiet certainty of a team that has just discovered how high its ceiling can be.
