Eveliina Salonen won the FPO title at the 2026 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championship in Milford, Michigan. It was her second world crown, sealed by a margin of 17 strokes. The runaway ranks as the largest victory in the modern era of the event.
From the feature card to the largest win of the modern era
Salonen started on the feature card and never left the lead card. She took control in the second round and never handed it back, playing across two championship layouts at Kensington Metropark.
Entering the final round nine strokes clear, she could have played safe. Instead she fired a bogey-free 14-under at the Toboggan Course, set a new FPO course record, and added an eagle on Hole 3.
That closing round earned a 1057 rating, tied for the fourth-best rated round in FPO history. Her event rating of 1023 stands as the highest-rated performance at any World Championship. She led the field in birdie percentage, fairway hits and scrambling, and took the fewest out-of-bounds strokes.
Two world titles and a place among the all-time greats
The win was Salonen's sixth PDGA Pro Major and 14th career Tour victory. With six Majors, she now ties Juliana Korver for the fourth-most in FPO history.
In 2024 she became the first Finnish player to win a World title. This season she has added the European Open, completing her Career Grand Slam, and reached five Tour wins, her best single year.
Two world titles, six Majors and a Grand Slam now mark the resume of Eveliina Salonen. The girl who once set winning Worlds as a goal has done it twice.
