Nussbaumer Crowned First SSL Slopestyle World Champion

German rider Johanna Nussbaumer won the Slopestyle Super League Finals at Crankworx Mont-Sainte-Anne, becoming the first-ever SSL World Champion in the league's inaugural season.

A single run to decide it all

American Shealen Reno led after the opening run with 76.75 points, a narrow edge over Nussbaumer's 75.87. The brand-new Quebec course, with its demanding wooden features, had already claimed Sweden's Alma Wiggberg, who crashed on the ramp and did not start a second run.

Nussbaumer answered with a clean and composed line. She landed a suicide barspin, an alley-oop barspin onto a feature, a 360, and a backflip barspin to finish.

The judges awarded 89.00 points. Reno then needed a reply but crashed on the same wooden drop that had ended Wiggberg's afternoon, sealing Nussbaumer's win by a margin of 12.25 points.

Three Diamond wins, one historic season

The title at Mont-Sainte-Anne completed a sweep for the reigning 2025 Red Bull Rookie of the Year. It was her third Diamond-level victory of the season, following wins at Crankworx Rotorua and the Rhapsody Slopestyle in Whistler.

At her Diamond debut in Rotorua, she sat fourth after one run before a second pass earned 92.50 points and a gap of more than ten points over the field. By September, the pattern was familiar and the outcome historic.

The first SSL World Champion comes from Germany.
