Godziek Becomes First Slopestyle Super League Champion

Dawid Godziek is the first Slopestyle Super League World Champion. The Polish rider won the winner-takes-all SSL Finals at Crankworx Mont-Sainte-Anne with a score of 94.25.

One point to decide it all

Godziek arrived in Quebec as the man to beat after topping the Regular Season. He delivered a run that earned 94.25 points from the judges at the tour's first grand finals held at Mont-Sainte-Anne.

Chance Moore pushed him closest, posting 93.25 points. The margin was just one point. Lucas Huppert took third with 88.62, and the rest of the field could not break 87 points.

A season that changed the sport

The win capped a historic year. Godziek had already won the Red Bull Joyride at Whistler to complete the Triple Crown of Slopestyle, a clean sweep of all three major FMBA slopestyle events.

That Whistler victory also earned him the Regular Season points title and a bye straight into the Finals. The new SSL format has replaced the old SWC, and Godziek wrote his name first on its new trophy.

"It's a really nice feeling," Godziek said after his Whistler win. The quiet remark now reads like a forecast of what was to come on a Quebec mountainside.
