NG Chio Hong steered his Moovi electric surfboard through the Marbella waters to win the Electric class at the 2026 UIM MotoSurf World Championship. The result, delivered on 14 September, made him the first rider from Macau to claim a world title in the sport and led a historic 1-2 finish for the Chinese manufacturer.
A final run without the returning champion
The decisive race took shape before the start signal. Michal Skoček, a recent champion in the class, had marked his comeback earlier in the week but did not take part in the final. His absence left the top step open, and Ng seized the opportunity from the first buoy.
Ng built his lead with clean, precise lines and never allowed the chase to close. His teammate, Leong Lat Hang, pushed hard on an identical Moovi board and crossed the line second, locking out the top two positions for the team. The one-two result at a venue as demanding as Marbella’s Real de la Quinta resort confirmed the reliability and race pace of the electric boards under championship pressure.
Macau arrives, Moovi conquers
Michal Uhlár, riding a Jetsurf, completed the podium in third, with Hungary’s Tibor Abrahám taking fourth. For Macau, the day rewrote the record books: no rider from the territory had previously stood on a MotoSurf world podium, let alone won a title.
The Electric class field assembled in Spain featured experienced international competitors and established manufacturers. Moovi’s double podium demonstrated that electric propulsion can now deliver race-winning performance at the highest level of the sport.
For Ng, the victory places Macau on the global motorsurfing map. For Moovi, Marbella will be remembered as the moment a Chinese electric surfboard manufacturer claimed a historic victory at the UIM MotoSurf World Championship.
