An early penalty, a perfect response
The final day demanded heats, a semi-final and a final from every paddler on the demanding Spanish course. Fox struck an early gate, incurring a two-second penalty that could have broken her rhythm. She drove through the remaining gates with relentless speed, stopping the clock at 93.77 seconds to claim the win.
Six K1 crowns across a golden decade
The title adds to her K1 series victories in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. She finished the 2026 season on 322 points, arriving in La Seu after a World Cup win in Vaires-sur-Marne the previous weekend. Her sister Noemie Fox delivered a personal best in the same final, finishing fourth after a strong run.
A comeback that exceeded all limits
The achievement arrives barely 12 months after Fox underwent kidney surgery, a procedure that imposed the longest break of her career. Her return delivered three gold medals at the 2026 World Championships in Oklahoma City earlier that summer. "It was the comeback year and it definitely exceeded my expectations," she said.
A narrow second place in the C1 series standings, by just two points, only underscored the depth of her season. The moment in La Seu d'Urgell placed another marker in a career that keeps redefining the sport's ceiling.
