Dawid Godziek Wins Red Bull Joyride to Complete Slopestyle Triple Crown

The Triple Crown of Slopestyle is complete. Dawid Godziek of Poland won Red Bull Joyride at Crankworx Whistler with a 96.6-point run, claiming victory at all three top Crankworx slopestyle contests in a single season.

One run to decide a season

The final was tough. Godziek fell on the last jump of his first run. That put all the pressure on his second effort.

He then put down a clean, strong ride. He moved past Tim Bringer, who had set a high mark of 94.4 in his own first run. But Bringer crashed in his second run and could not answer.

Max Fredriksson of Sweden took bronze, returning from a hard year of injuries. He was the only male rider to complete his runs without a single crash in the whole contest. The event started at ten in the morning, after course problems earlier in the week pushed the schedule back.

Three golds, one crown

The Joyride win added to Godziek's earlier victory at Crankworx Cairns. That was his first gold at a Slopestyle World Championship, and it was the start of a historic sweep. He had never won a world-level slopestyle contest before that season.

Taking all three contests in one season makes him the sport’s strongest rider this year. His 96.6 run is the top score of the season on the Whistler course, and he landed it with no room for error. It was the perfect finish to a dominant season.

For one day in Whistler, the Triple Crown was not about numbers. It was about a rider who would not stop until the job was done. His ride left nothing on the table, a moment that will stay in the memory of the sport for years to come.
