Cris Cyborg stepped into the cage in Tampa carrying the weight of a 20-year career. A 30th professional victory was within reach, and she claimed it by unanimous decision, retaining the PFL Women’s Featherweight World Championship.

Bloodied but in control

The contest against Ketlen Vieira at the Benchmark International Arena on 22 August 2026 was a gruelling affair. Vieira, weighing in seven pounds over the limit, wobbled the champion with a sharp punch in the second round. Later, a heavy elbow from top position bloodied Cyborg’s face in the fourth.

Cyborg responded by digging a stiff body jab into the challenger’s mid-section, gradually reclaiming the centre of the cage. All three judges scored the bout in her favour, with tallies of 49-46, 49-46, and 48-47 confirming her 10th straight win.

A milestone no woman had reached

The victory moved her record to 30 wins, a total no female fighter in MMA history had touched before. It also cemented her status as the only athlete, male or female, to capture world titles across five major promotions. Those titles span Strikeforce, Invicta FC, the UFC, Bellator, and now the PFL.

Vieira outlanded Cyborg by a wide margin, 202 strikes to 106, but could not halt the champion’s late surge. Cyborg’s power, long her calling card, was matched by the patience of a veteran fighting in the closing chapter of a contract.

An exit on her own terms

“Eight years undefeated. I’m ready for anybody, anytime, any weight,” Cyborg told reporters afterwards. The promotion billed the night as a retirement bout, though the fighter herself had been cautious, writing beforehand that she would sit with family and teammates before deciding her future.

The scorecards were final. The farewell, for now, remained hers alone to declare.
