Anna Leigh Waters claimed both the women’s singles and women’s doubles titles at the 2026 Veolia US Pickleball National Championships. The world No. 1 swept through the season‑opening slam in Cary, North Carolina, for a national double crown.

Four pickles in six games

Waters opened her singles campaign with a brutal run of shutout games. In six outings she recorded four pickles, each an 11‑0 line that gave opponents no foothold.

The knockout rounds tightened nothing. She beat Kaitlyn Christian 11‑5, 11‑1 in the semifinals, then faced Kate Fahey on Sunday. Waters took the final 11‑1, 11‑9, with only the second game requiring a late push.

830 days and counting

The singles title stretched her unbeaten streak past 830 days. She has now played 256 games without a singles defeat, winning 28 of them 11‑0.

In doubles, Waters partnered Anna Bright and the pair were just as overwhelming through the first three rounds. They outscored opponents by a combined 66‑7, then dismissed Parris Todd and Rachel Rohrabacher 11‑3, 11‑4 in the semifinals.

Sunday’s final matched them against Tyra Black and Jorja Johnson, one of the only teams ever to beat Waters and Bright. No repeat arrived. Waters and Bright won 11‑5, 11‑6, 11‑3, a three‑game sweep that closed the week with quiet authority.

A mixed doubles semifinal loss was the week’s lone mark. On the singles and doubles courts, Waters left Cary with two national crowns and a sport still searching for a challenger who can close the distance.
