Léon Marchand won his first European title in the 200 m butterfly at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships in Paris. He touched in 1:51.72, a dominant performance at the Centre Aquatique Olympique.
The race unfolded on 15 August before a loud home crowd in the same pool where he won Olympic gold. Marchand pulled clear and never looked threatened.
