Nyjah Huston secured the inaugural Street League Skateboarding overall tour title at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on 25 September 2010. Still only 15, he closed the season as champion without needing to win the finale itself.
A tense finale, a quiet third
The Grand Finale of the DC Pro Tour came down to the last trick. Chris Cole rolled up with speed and popped a huge kickflip over the rail, but the board hit his feet wrong. Rookie pro Shane O'Neill then rode out a backside lipslide to snatch the $150,000 first prize.
Huston skated strongly but cautiously and held on for third place. That podium finish was enough to lock down the season crown, an iced-out Nixon watch and a championship trophy.
From Phoenix opener to season king
The Las Vegas result capped a debut campaign Huston had ignited months earlier. He won the very first Street League event in Phoenix with 116 points, also aged 15, making him the man to catch from the start.
His Las Vegas haul alone reached $250,000, making him the contest's richest earner on the day. The figure reflected a format — real-time, trick-by-trick scoring — that rewarded consistency and nerve across the whole season.
When the final buzzer sounded, the crowd cheered a new season-long champion. Huston walked away with a diamond-studded watch his wrist could barely hold up and a title no one else would ever claim first.
