Dmitrieva Wins World Individual Aerobic Title

Anastasia Dmitrieva is the new world champion in women's individual aerobic gymnastics. The Russian won the title at the 19th FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in Pamplona, Spain. She scored 20.550 points to take the gold.

One routine, no partner to lean on

The final came down to a single routine of 1 minute 20 seconds. Each gymnast builds it from eight set elements, packed into that short window. With no partner, one athlete carries the whole score alone.

The eight elements come from strength moves, static holds, jumps, turns and splits. Push-up moves and planches sit next to the turn every woman must show. A few acrobatic moves, such as handsprings, are also allowed.

The final was held on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona. Judges marked each routine on three lines: difficulty, execution and artistry. It is the hardest category in the sport, and Dmitrieva's total of 20.550 points led the field.

38 nations, eight titles on the line

The championships ran for three days, from 11 to 13 September 2026. They drew athletes from 38 nations to the Navarra Arena. Each one came to chase one of eight world titles.

Those titles were spread across the individual, pair, trio and group events. Every routine is scored on the same three lines. In the individual women's event, the full weight falls on one gymnast.

Dmitrieva carried that weight and finished ahead of the field. The gold goes home with her to Russia. It marks her as the leading name in the women's individual event.
