Nass (Bali) Wins RLCS 1v1 World Championship

Nassim "nass" Bali is the Rocket League 1v1 World Champion. The French player defeated reigning champion Hisham "Nwpo" Alqadi 4-2 in the grand final at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, claiming the $50,000 top prize.

A first LAN final ends in a world title

The Gentle Mates professional was playing his first 1v1 event on a LAN stage. He reached the final by beating Team Vitality's Alexis "zen" Bernie 4-3 in the European Open, then João "diaz" Henrique 4-2 in the semi-finals earlier in the week.

Nwpo had come through the other side of the bracket, beating South American representative Danilo "kv1" Michelini 4-1 in the opening match. The Saudi player was the first ever 1v1 World Champion, having won the title last season with a 4-1 win over Axel "Mawkzy" Timone.

The crown moves from Saudi Arabia to France

The tournament is only in its second edition, expanded this year to four region-locked representatives from Europe, North America, South America and MENA. Its prizepool nearly doubled to $85,000, with all four competitors guaranteed $10,000.

Bali's achievement sits alongside a strong season in the 3v3 format.

The 1v1 title now belongs to France. For Bali, the first LAN 1v1 event of his career ends with the world crown.
